Environment Matters

Many pollution and other environmental protection issues at FRS premises are covered in a new interactive eLearning guidance module specific to Fire and Rescue Services.

This 20 minute interactive eLearning module, has been developed in partnership between Rio, Avon Fire & Rescue Service and the London Fire Brigade

The Fire & Rescue: Environment Matters module shows how environmental issues at stations can be best addressed, including:

  • Using the right drains for vehicle washing
  • Best practice for hazardous waste
  • Use of depolluted scrap cars for training
  • Energy efficiency measures

Although it is not designed to provide operational guidance, many of the underlying imperatives and principles of environmental protection are the same.
